Pick of the Clicks – Magic of the Morning

Though I have seen many sunrises in my lifetime, I never grow tired of watching the colors and shadows evolving ever so slightly as the minutes pass.  Many changes occur during this time, including the different colors in the sky and landscape, the evaporating dew on the grass, and the awakening of the world.  These moments are magical to me, renewing my spirit and giving energy to my body for the day ahead.

This morning’s sunrise seemed especially magical with its neon hues and clouds.  Additional sights in the moments that followed inspired this poem.

Magic of the Morning

Summer sun on the rise
Spreading crimson across the sky
As the dawn breaks fresh and new
Blessed by God’s vast array of hues
In His pallet as He paints
Moments within the day
In the magic of the morning
Happening before thee.

Dew Drops on Grass Lisa A. Wisniewski

Dew Drops on Grass

Dew on the grass sparking in the sun,
Tiny drops soon to be gone as they run
In the heat of the rays
Sweeping gently in the breeze that plays
Like a fawn frolicking in the field
Happy for the dawn that conceals
The magic of the morning
Happening before thee.

Queen Anne's Lace Lisa A. Wisniewski

Queen Anne’s Lace

Queen Anne’s lace basking in the sun
Drawn awake by the beams that run
From the blue sky
To its delicate weave tied
Together in nature’s maze
Ever changing as the moments come and fade
In the magic of the morning
Happening before thee.

Deer Hiding in Field Lisa A. Wisniewski

Deer Hiding in Field

Deer hiding in the weeds
Silently smiling as it sees
All that exists within the landscape
Allowing it to gracefully graze
As summer passes by
In nature’s classroom of life
Through the moments of the morning
Happening before thee.

Wispy Clouds Above Lisa A. Wisniewski

May the magic of the morning
Happening before thee
Renew the mind, body, and soul
As time unfolds
Under heaven’s skies
Blessing each day in time.
