Pick of the Clicks

After reading Galileo’s Art of Science, I thought I would try mixing art with science in my blog.  Since I take many pictures with my digital camera each week, I decided to choose a favorite picture and post it with either a poem or short story inspired by the image.

Roses of the Dawn

Roses of the dawn
In the glow beyond
The trees above the fields
In the sea of life revealed
Slowly over time
In the growing light.

Roses of the dawn
Crimson and yellow moving on
To peach, pink, and red
In the breezes that bend
The boughs and the grass
As the dew comes to pass
Dried up by the rays
In the skies of the day.

Roses of the dawn
Like seeds sown that bloom on
Throughout the days of life
In colorful arrays that delight
The senses of the soul
Under the extents of nature’s hold.
